I can offer a
series of illustrated talks on various subjects to interested groups.
The talks available at the moment are:
An armchair tour of the highlights of Greenwich.
This very well illustrated allows you to see all that you would see if you
came on my walking tour 'Greenwich Highlights' without the effort of walking
for 90 minutes.
The Rise and Rise of London.
This is again a beautifully illustrated
talk covering the architectural evolution from the Roman Wall to the present
day. It is based on the walk of the same name but includes
plans, views from distant viewpoints and roof top panoramas.
This talk is based on one of my walks
called 'Hidden Knightsbridge' but has additional material that cannot be
covered in a 90 minute walk.
Around the Tower.
This talk is based on a walk of the same
name and actually contains almost the same content. This is an
ideal presentation for someone who cannot come on the walk. It
does NOT go around the Tower of London but instead explores the eastern part
of the City which is not usually covered by guides. The area brims with
This talk visits the historically
interesting area around Smithfield market and Hatton Garden. Needless
to say diamonds are mentioned.
This talk outlines the history of the Royal Artillery with some
emphasis on the well known Royal Horse Artillery. The Artillery motto
is 'Ubique' which means everywhere. That leaves a few stories to be
Flags and Fugitives
This talk is set among the flags of embassies, an
area full of intrigue. The fugitives include Lord Lucan, Julian
Assange and many who are no longer with us.
Talks normally run for about 60 minutes.
As an example the armchair tour of Greenwich is scheduled to run for about
45 minutes with the remainder of time for questions. I find that this
suits most groups but of course everything can be tailored to your own
The cost will be moderate and commensurate with the fees
already paid to speakers by Towns Womens Guilds, Probus Clubs etc.

All South East London
postcodes and the London Boroughs of Bromley and Bexley with the exception
of the areas inside the congestion zones. Other reasonably accessible areas
will be considered.
I come equipped with a
screen, high definition projector and a sound system. The sound
system is suitable for a classroom or a small village hall and includes a
roving microphone suitable for questions from the audience.
